Joking apart, it’s a balance writing this email each week as I want to post heaps of information but some email providers (eg Gmail) ‘cut off’ content if it gets to a certain length. As if it wasn’t bad with Gmail (and others) bouncing these to spam, junk folders or ‘Promotions’ tab 😡

How to get free international calls from RTA Metro station during Ramadan

Dubai Metro launches “We Bring You Closer” initiative via cabinets for customers to call international during Ramadan for fee.

Wonder what the queues will be like for these?

Atlantis Circle is a (relatively) new app for discounts and lifestyle benefits at Atlantis hotels, spas and restaurants.

This article details the 25% dining discount for example.

Note - the app is aimed for UAE residents, rather than tourists, but it could be worth looking into if you' know any residents (and can get them to foot the bill!)

Talking of deals and residents, Eid al Fitr will soon be upon us and already the hotels are offering some pretty decent Eid deals.

As always with any deal, ALWAYS check the terms of the deal to validate the ‘value proposition’. Although the term ‘staycation’ is sometimes used with these offers, it often indicates that it’s an offer aimed at GCC residents.

45% discount at Address Beach Resort sounds brilliant - but remember, these deals are often aimed at inbound travellers to Dubai/UAE from other GCC countries who flock in after Ramadan. Here’s another eight staycations for Eid-al-Fitr that may be worth a gander.

However, some hotels do offer these promotions and do not always state you need either Emirates ID or GCC ID to avail of them. As always, ‘Your Mileage May Vary’ but do tread carefully before pressing that ‘buy’ button.

There are already some great promotions around for Dubai, hotels are going a bit bonkers in some cases dropping prices, and once Eid’s over there will only be more as we move towards shoulder season.

Ladies Nights are one of Dubai’s ‘things’ that are well worth looking into and partaking in, especially if you’re a bit touchy on the price of drinks.

They can vary from ‘free’ entry to paid, but generally there’s some element of an incentive for the fairer sex to attend and avail of the libations.

Here’s a list of seven ‘free’ Ladies Nights to start with. And another, if you’re really that thirsty, or looking for a Ladies Night on a particular night (as Tuesday is the main night for them).
