DRINK

ā€˜Selling Out Shopsā€™ in Dubai, or How To Buy Booze in Dubai

Hereā€™s a quick tip that should bring some cheer to your belly.

Without going all ā€˜Michael Caineā€™, something not a lot of people know about in Dubai (and Abu Dhabi) is tourists can buy alcohol other than in Dubai Duty Free.

Two of the biggest distributors are African and Eastern (A&E) and MMI, and both have branches dotted around both Emirates.

MMI also run Legal Home Delivery, who can deliver grog to you.

Finally, donā€™t overlook getting deals at the stores with things like My Emirates Pass for an extra 10% discount at MMI and Le Clos.

You do not need a liquor license, but do take your passport if visiting (or receiving) as age/ID checks are required.

Of course, do be careful and respect the laws and culture. Itā€™s fine to drink ā€˜in privateā€™ eg your hotel room, and perhaps even on the balcony. Just be mindful that in Dubai all it can take is someone to make a complaint and you cad have a bad day out, so do be situationally aware, respectful and sensible.

STAY

A ā€˜newā€™ Address Hotel Dubai Mall?

The ā€˜story that keeps on givingā€™ about Address hotels took another turn this week.

In addition to Emaar handing over 5 hotels to ADNH, and 3 reflagging to Marriott brands and 2 to Kempinski, there is now a ā€˜newā€™ Address Dubai Mall Hotel.

As you may recall, Address Dubai Mall reflagged to Kempinski Central Avenue Dubai.

In other words, the Address Dubai Mall is now the other/east side of Dubai Mall across Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard. Its previous incarnation is now Kempinski Central Avenue Dubai and is on the west (Sheikh Zayed Road side) of Dubai Mall, near to Address Sky View, Sofitel Downtown and Metro.

Relationship Rules for a Rich Husband?

Sadly, this isnā€™t an article about how to find a rich husband, but it seems this lady has her rules for her husband - including monthly holidays.

PS. Hopefully this will be the last ā€˜rich Dubai housewifeā€™ content for a while whilst we go more highbrow. Or not.
